discussion of pendulum jump details

What is a swing jump?

I learned about the new extreme attraction called the Swing Jump from a caretaker at the DPS. A few clicks were enough to discover the details of this new challenge. The pendulum jump is characterized by a huge acceleration from the first second of release from the system, but the emotions build up from the start, as the jumpers are pulled all the way to the top of the stadium roof. Then, after a moment of uncertainty, reflection, and blissful silence, without any countdown, they are suddenly released, falling with incredible acceleration and soon soaring just above the stadium seats!
I quickly realized this was something for me, especially after seeing disabled individuals in wheelchairs who had already experienced it. The additional advantage was the short distance from my home. I sent an email to Dream Jump, the organizers of this extreme sport, and after a week, I received a positive response with a proposed date.
The jumps at Śląsk Wrocław Stadium take place every weekend when there are no mass events, almost all year round, with a small break during December and January, so it's easy to choose a convenient date.

Are there any limitations for wheelchair users?

My concerns that such a serious disability as quadriplegia might be an obstacle proved unfounded. In a sense, quadriplegia was an advantage, as no one like me had yet experienced a swing jump, and it was also a challenge for the organizer. Previous wheelchair users had functional arms and could hold onto the swing. In my case, this wasn't possible, so they decided to use a hammock.

Upon arriving at Śląsk Wrocław Stadium and briefly meeting the Dream Jump team, I immediately noticed the positive energy radiating from these young people, filled with passion for what they do. We discussed all the details of the Swing Jump, and without much trouble, I was placed in the hammock. The ascent to the target height of 37 meters was smooth, with adrenaline rising proportionally to the proximity of the stadium roof.

Impressions from the swing jump

I knew from videos that the moment of release is dramatic, but what you experience at that moment exceeds all expectations. The suddenness and unpredictability of the release make you feel like you're about to die. What surprised me even more was that after a brief moment, the mind accepts it with a feeling of bliss. I've never experienced such a mental state, even though I've tried several extreme sports before. After a while, you return to full awareness, and anxiety turns into joy and satisfaction that you've experienced something new and incredible.

Who is the swing jump for?

I can recommend the swing jump to those who want to be scared like never before. I was really saying goodbye to life, and the adrenaline surely hit its maximum level. The subsequent feeling of happiness, even euphoria, was an amazing experience that stayed with me for several dozen minutes.
I'm very happy that I was able to experience these unexpected sensations, and I'm very grateful to everyone, especially the Dream Jump team, who helped me fulfill another dream despite the ongoing pandemic.
