Stadium Hall

I have been interested in football for as long as I can remember, but I had never been to a large, modern football stadium. I was very eager to watch a match during Euro 2012, but unfortunately, I didn't win a ticket.

An opportunity arose when my university friends asked what I would like to see in Wrocław. Without much hesitation, I mentioned the Śląsk Wrocław Stadium. A few weeks later, a friend called me to say that everything was organized and to get ready for the trip.

Depending on your preference, the stadium tour can be done in a group with a guide or independently. I definitely recommend the first option, as having a trained tour guide allows you to learn about many interesting and normally inaccessible places, as well as hear numerous anecdotes and stories from the life of the Stadium.

We started the tour in a large room where a press conference is held after each match. Then, we walked through wide corridors to the home team's locker room, which is tastefully painted in the club colors of Śląsk Wrocław.

The next stage was entering the field level, where the guide explained all the nuances of the stadium's construction in a very interesting way. I learned, among other things, that the center of the pitch is 30 cm higher than the sides, and that no match has ever been interrupted due to weather conditions at this stadium.

After this lecture, we moved (I took the elevator) to the stadium's VIP area, where the cheapest ticket for a league match costs 600 PLN. We learned about the opportunities and benefits for fans in this area. I was impressed by the comfort and size of this part of the facility.

The final stage of the tour was exploring the many nooks and crannies of this beautiful Stadium. We had the chance to visit the temporary prison, among other places.

The tour of the modern Stadium exceeded my expectations significantly. I did not expect to find so many interesting places in a sports facility. Unfortunately, we couldn't see all of them due to internal regulations, but the tour was still very interesting, and I recommend this place to visit not only for football fans. Of course, like any modern building, the Stadium is fully accessible for wheelchair users. This undoubtedly reflects the fact that the local Disabled Supporters' Club is one of the largest and most active in Poland.
